Bartholomew "Bart" J. Simpson is a central character in the animated TV show, The Simpsons. He is the mischievous and rebellious eldest child of Homer and Marge Simpson, and brother to Lisa and Maggie.
Bart first appeared as part of the Simpson family shorts on The Tracey Ullman Show on April 19, 1987, before The Simpsons became its own standalone series in 1989. He is known for his catchphrases, such as "Eat my shorts!" and "Ay, caramba!" His antics often involve pranks, skateboarding, and getting into trouble at Springfield Elementary School.
A frequent haunt of Bart's is the local Kwik-E-Mart, where he occasionally shoplifts and interacts with the store's proprietor, Apu Nahasapeemapetilon.
